Crepe Rubber is the coagulation sap that is rolled in a wrinkled sheet, usually used for making soles for shoes and boots but also a raw material for a processed rubber product.

The colloidal latex was first mixed with formic acid to cause it to coagulate. Coagulum is processed by "battery creping", a series of crushing machines, pressing and coagula rolling. The sheets are hung in a heated drying barn and then sorted by class and packed for delivery.

Type
There are several types and levels of crepe rubber, especially distinguished by the class and pre-processing of latex used in its manufacture.
- Pale latex crepe (PLC) is a premium grade, made from raw field latex.
- Estate brown crepe (EBC) is made from "lump cups" (raw rubber, naturally coagulated from collection cups) and other coagulum.
- Crepe grind made from "wet slab coagulum" (latex sap, still wet from the coagulation tank), latex sheet (not bitten) and lump cups.
- Crepe smoking blankets are made of thick latex sheets that have been processed into smokers.
- Flat skin crepe made from waste and other low quality raw products.
