Histori
Yayasan
The founder, Cecil Schumacher, is Cosworth's transmission engineer recruited from Borg Warner to lead the design team to adapt Hobbs's (working on) transmission to handle the Cosworth DFV power. Cecil watched his coworkers drive the radio-controlled cars on the company's helicopter pad and decided that he needed a differential ball after realizing the cars were rocking and his son Robin Schumacher. He soon began to realize a large area that these early primitive cars could be improved. After paying attention to the tire's high wear he introduced a differential ball to a radio-controlled car.
This ball difference was used by Robin then his friends then the local model store was asked to save it and immediately follow international orders. It came to the point that Cecil Schumacher was making more money from this side business than through his employer. So in 1981 Schumacher Racing Products was formed in Northampton, England.
The company always operates outside Northampton but sourced some components from China like most other successful RC companies; However, most manufacturers remain in the UK and Schumacher remains a British company. Cecil Schumacher's son Robin Schumacher took over the business in 2001.
1980s
The first car produced by Schumacher was the lexan chassis pan car XL in 1981 which has a very flexible chassis that is suitable for indoor racing. This was followed in 1983 by a "C" car made of fiberglass reinforced epoxy resin sheets and was designed specifically for racing on the carpet. This includes many features that are still present in every modern 1/12-scale car; race wins including the euro in 1985 and 1988.
In the second half of the 1980s, RC off-road cars became more popular. In 1986, the first 4WD 1/10-scale off-road buggy was launched, called CAT SWB. It launched the CAT (Competition All Terrain) brand for Schumacher. The first 4WD SWB (Short Wheel Base) variant of this car was an instant success with a serious RC fan whose popularity cemented into history when Masami Hirosaka won the 1987 IFMAR off road RC World Championships who had lent the car a work after Schumacher's scouts recorded his driving form during the practice session.
1990s
Following the success of the first generation CAT off-road, Schumacher continues to produce many successful electric cars and on the road. The popularity of the class car tour seriously affected the off-road world during the 1990s. Schumacher withdrew from this class until the 1990s. Schumacher then began to dominate the niche in the "fun" car sector, with a high-speed nitro-powered/speed model capable of real speeds of over 80 mph.
2000s
During the turn of the century, Schumacher's product line became very familiar with "fun" cars with more and more nitro products; But still in the touring car market competition 1/10.
2010s
Cheap low-volume low-margin flows ready to run cars manufactured in Asia mean the company no longer produces nitro cars or fun cars. Schumacher is now concentrating on the high-performance 1/10 scale electric competition market. Along with their Mi touring cars, the company re-entered the off-road scene with CAT SX (4WD) and Cougar SV (2WD).
