Finlay Mickel (born December 6, 1977) is a Scottish ski trainer and former downhill skier who competed in the 2000-2009 World Cup and 2006 Winter Olympics.

Mickel was born on December 6, 1977 in Edinburgh, Scotland. He was educated at Stewart's Melville College. He first appeared at the World Cup in Lake Louise, Canada in November 2000. His best result at the World Cup was the 10th in Wengen's declining show in Switzerland, in January 2006.
On February 5, 2005, he finished eleventh on the Downhill Putra event at the World Championships held in Bormio, Italy. This is the best result of a British man in the history of the World Championships, and the best in any major competition since Martin Bell ended up eighth in the fall at the 1988 Winter Olympics in Calgary.
In the Olympic Games in Turin in 2006 he completed 25th at the downhill show and 22nd in the Super G event.

Injuries and pensions
Mickel suffered several injuries during his career including a broken left ankle, a broken right Achilles tendon, right ankle fracture and a broken bone in the right plain of the tibia. Although he recovered from each of these setbacks, after being a member of the Alpine English ski team for 12 years, he announced his retirement from sports in May 2009 at the age of 31 years.
He took the position as coach with the Scottish Alpine Team.
